Germany is a business hotspot for foreign investors. Currently, around 80,000 foreign companies are based in Germany, employing approx. 3.7 million people. In their FDI report, the economic development agency of the Federal Republic of Germany, Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), stated a peak value of 1,910 FDI projects in 2017. This confirms the excellent results of recent years (2016: 1,944 projects, 2015: 1,912 projects).
